Description: | The main aim of the project is to combine the demands of rationality and functionality of a hospital facility with the desire to create more domestic and comfortable spaces and to encourage social interaction and group activities. The result is a five-storey L-shaped building plus an underground level. The basement is used for parking areas, storage and utility rooms. The areas dedicated to interaction with visitors and socializing are arranged on the ground floor, while medical rooms and therapy areas are located on all floors next to the stairs and lifts, so as not to interfere with more private activities. The remaining floors are mainly residential, with 40 apartments organized over 4 floors and adjoining communal areas. The roof houses the maintenance area as well as a roof garden. The whole building is wrapped in a curtain wall of adjustable brise-soleil for controlling the light and temperature of the interior. |
